Helane Morrison began her advancements in education towards her career when she graduated from NorthWestern University and received her bachelor’s degree in journalism. She then studied at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. Here, she was the editor in chief of the law journal called the California Law Review. 

Morrison began her career in law in 1984 when she became a law clerk. In 1985, she joined the law firm of Howard, Rice, Nemerovski, Canady, Falk & Rabkin which had originated in San Francisco. She had stayed with the firm until 1991. Helane Morrison currently works with a private investment company called Hall Capital Partners LLC. She serves here as a general counsel and chief compliance officer, as well as a managing director and innovative member of the executive committee.
