José Auriemo Neto plans Seven Duplex Apartments in New York’s 815 Fifth Avenue

José Auriemo Neto is a Brazilian businessman with vast investments in a variety of industries. Jose graduated from FAAP. He is currently the President of JHSF Participacoes S.A. which is Sao Paulo based, a leading real estate firm in Brazil. JHSF has been in existence since 1972 and is known to set standards for other companies in the sector. JHSF has over the years provided innovative and advanced solutions in the real estate business.

In 2011, the company established an environmentally friendly comfy residential building which was unique. They ventured into the hotel business, starting with Hotel Fasano with others following after that. Jose, who is also the Chairman and CEO, has guided JHSF to great success including the commissioning of shopping malls in Manaus and Salvador. The firm’s market value is over $4 billion.

JHSF is currently undertaking a project in 815 Fifth Avenue, New York. The project, which faces Central Park, will house residential apartments plus the firm’s five-star hotel. According to the plan filed at the office of New York’s Attorney General, JHSF is set to construct seven duplex apartments at the site. Although neighbors feared that the building would not fit in the area, the plans for the flats show it is very compatible, most probably because of the Art Deco-inspired design.

The project will occupy a space that has been open since 1871 and, therefore, will change the topography of the area. The Landmarks Preservation Commission approved the plan citing that the project conforms to the aesthetics of the block. Each apartment will be 3,700 feet.

José Auriemo Neto moved to New York to closely monitor the construction of the building and is set to be there for almost half a year. He also took with him, his wife Mariana and their children.
