Professional finance and alternative asset manager, Peter Lionel Briger is centered in San Francisco, California. He has gained worldwide fame for his leadership, operational and managerial roles in diverse companies. According to Crunch base, Briger has over two decades of practice in asset management. Driven by his thirst for finance careers, he holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Wharton Business School in the University of Pennsylvania. After graduating, he secured a job in Goldman Sachs, and Co where he worked for fifteen years. He was then promoted to become a partner of Goldman Sachs and Co in 1996.

During that period, he worked as a co-head in many committees such as the Compliance Committee and the Asian Management Committee Global Control. Briger is currently working with Fortress Investment Group as a Principal and co-chairman of Board of Directors. His leadership was through an election in 2009. Before then, Peter Briger had worked in the Management Committee running managerial operations since 2002. Fortress Investment Group is a private equity company based in New York founded on January 1, 1998. The firm manages alternative assets in hedge funds, private equity, and credit capitals. The estimated value of assets it oversees is more than $65 billion. It caters to the individual and institutional venture capitalists. Currently, Peter Briger supervises the real estate industry and credit funds for Fortress.

The company was rated the first alternative venture firm to go public. Fortress Investment Group LLC was purchased in 2017 by Softbank Group Corporation while retaining its principals. The Japanese global Softbank bought Fortress at 3.3 billion dollars. By December 31st, 2017, the Fortress Investment Group was supervising assets valued at just about 43.6 billion dollars. The company’s success is accredited to three headship figures Peter Briger, Wes Edens and Randal Nardone. Apart from his financial prowess, Peter Briger is also part of numerous philanthropic groups and activities. Briger is an associate of the Global Fund for Children within the Silicon Valley Leadership Council in addition to the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) membership. CFR is an independent union which campaigns for an improved understanding of foreign strategy issues amid both the populations and the elected representatives.
