Marc Beer: A Short Bio

Renovia Inc., co-founded by Marc Beer, has recently raised $42,000,000 towards pelvic floor disorders and women’s health. The startup company based in Boston is currently developing a new diagnostic and therapeutic products that need in the treatments and alleviation of public for disorders which has been reported to affects around 250,000,000 women across the globe. Several companies such as the Longwood Fund, Perceptive Advisors, and Missouri-Based Ascension Ventures, have their own share in Renovia’s development of the products talked about above. When asked to comment about the new investors for the Renovia products, Mr. Beer said the following, “We are thrilled to have the support of this group of leading healthcare investors who share our vision to better diagnose, treat, and improve the lives of millions of women affected by pelvic floor disorders.


Some of you may be asking, ‘Who exactly is the co-founder, Chairman, and CEO of Renovia?’ He is Marc Beer. He graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He has had over 25 years of development and commercialization experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, device and diagnostic industries. In the spring of 2000, Mr. Beer became the founding CEO of ViaCell, which served as a company specializing in biotechnology for the preservation, collection, and development of umbilical cord blood stem cells. After seven years, in 2007, the company of ViaCell became a robust and rapidly growing commercial organization. ViaCell would eventually be sold off in 2007 after going public in 2005. During his tenure at ViaCell, Mr. Beer was on the board of directors for a company called Erytech Pharma, a company similar to ViaCell, but specialized in the biopharmaceutical realm. Other accomplishments and achievements of Marc Beer’s include Vice President of Global Marketing with Genzyme, various marketing and sales roles with Abbot Laboratories, and served as a member of the Biotechnology Industry Organization Emerging Companies Section Governing Board.
